FBC™ System Compatible Program

Ensuring compatibility between piping material and ancillary products is essential to the health and longevity of the system. With metal piping, the industry knows to avoid contact between dissimilar metals to avoid galvanic corrosion. For generations, plumbers have known that copper must be protected when installed in concrete or high salinity environments because of corrosion concerns. Lubrizol developed the FBC™ System Compatible Program to ease the burden of researching and selecting construction products to accompany its CPVC offerings, including Corzan® CPVC.

The FBC™ System Compatible program helps installers be sure they are using ancillary construction products compatible with Corzan CPVC. The exclusive program removes guesswork and is another reason to spec Corzan CPVC, along with its immunity to corrosion, pitting and scaling.

To qualify for inclusion in the FBC™ System Compatible Program, the manufacturer of auxiliary construction products must agree to:

  • Submit their products for testing by a third-party lab.
  • Not alter the tested formulation.
  • Have their manufacturing facility audited annually by the third-party lab.

Each listed product undergoes formulation screening and rigorous physical testing in contact with Lubrizol CPVC samples at a third-party laboratory. Accepted products are given the right to display the FBC™ System Compatible mark on their labels.
